Unraveling the Ranch Mysteries

  1. How many horseback rides are included in the stay?

    • For a Sunday to Sunday stay, guests can enjoy 5 - 6 rides, weather, group size, and riding ability dependent. There's no riding on Sundays.

  2. What is the duration of the horseback rides?

    • Typical rides last 2-3 hours, while all-day rides average 5-6 hours. Riding times can be adjusted for those preferring shorter rides.

  3. Do you offer day rides?

    • Rancho Vista Hermosa provides a complete ranch experience, exclusively for guests staying at the Rancho.

  4. Is the ranch open in the winter?

    • Similar to many guest ranches, we are seasonal, operating from the middle of April through November each year.

  5. What are the check-in and check-out times?

    • Check-in is between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Check-out is at 11 a.m.

  6. Do you offer transportation?

    • We currently don't provide transportation, but we can share contacts for local drivers.

  7. When is the deposit required?

    • A 25% deposit is required upon booking to secure your reservation.

  8. Is there Wi-Fi at the ranch?

    • Wi-Fi is available in the Main House

  9. Do you sell alcohol?

    • We don't have a liquor license, so guests can bring their own alcoholic drinks. Sodas, water, coffee and tea are provided during your stay. 

  10. How many acres does Rancho Vista Hermosa have to ride?

    • The ranch has access to 21 million acres of BLM land plus 20,500 acres, surrounded by Empire Ranch.

  11. What is the ranch's elevation?

    • Rancho Vista Hermosa is situated at an elevation of 4,300 feet.

  12. How many horses does the ranch own?

    • The ranch has a herd of approximately 10 horses.

  13. Are horses leased out during the winter?

    • No, the ranch believes in giving horses the winter months to roam freely.
